How to Share Instagram Posts to a Facebook Page Automatically

Managing multiple social media platforms can be time-consuming. By linking your Instagram and Facebook accounts seamlessly through Meta, every post or reel you publish on Instagram can automatically be shared to your designated Facebook Page, saving you time and expanding your reach.

1. Switch to a Professional Account

Before you can link a Facebook Page to your Instagram, your Instagram profile must be set as a Professional account. A standard personal account cannot be linked directly to a Facebook Page for automated cross-posting.

  • Open the Instagram app and go to your profile.
  • Tap the three horizontal lines (menu) in the top right corner and select Settings and privacy.
  • Scroll down to find Account type and tools (or “For professionals”).
  • Tap on Switch to professional account.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to select your category and choose a “Business” or “Creator” account.

2. Connect Accounts via Meta Accounts Center

The next step is to link your personal Facebook profile (which holds admin access to your Facebook Page) with your Instagram account through the Meta Accounts Center.

  • Go back to your Instagram Settings and privacy.
  • At the top of the menu, tap on Accounts Center.
  • Tap on Profiles, then select Add accounts.
  • Choose to add a Facebook account and log in with your Facebook credentials.
  • Follow the prompts to authorize the connection and finalize the link between the two platforms.

3. Connect Your Facebook Page

Now that your Meta Accounts Center is set up, you need to specify exactly which Facebook Page should receive your Instagram content.

  • Navigate back to your Instagram profile page.
  • Tap the Edit Profile button located below your bio.
  • Under the “Public Business/Profile Information” section, tap on Page.
  • A list of Facebook Pages you manage will appear. Select the designated page you wish to connect.
  • (If you do not have a page yet, you can also select the option to create a new Facebook Page directly from this menu).

4. Enable Cross-Posting

With the accounts and page successfully linked, the final step is to toggle on the automatic sharing permissions so your content posts seamlessly.

  • Open Instagram Settings and privacy and return to the Accounts Center.
  • Under “Connected experiences,” tap on Sharing across profiles.
  • Select your Instagram account as the source (where you will be sharing “From”).
  • Ensure the “Share to” section points to your newly linked Facebook Page.
  • Under the “Automatically share” section, toggle on the buttons for Your Instagram posts, Your Instagram story, and Your Instagram reels as desired.

Once these steps are completed, any new content you share on Instagram will automatically post to your connected Facebook Page!
